Take me out to the ball game

As you all know, I played competitive softball growing up. When you are in the league, you sort of become a softball family with all the other players. TC also played and Katie Thomas was on her team. Katie was like another sister growing up. She basically lived at our house in the summers. She taught me the correct way to toilet paper, she taught me how to drive a stick shift, and she played an excellent Sammy from Days of Our Lives when we filmed our own version. She is a teacher in Vegas now and every year, she comes down to Phoenix for spring training games. I'm so happy I was here to hang out with them!

There was no men or kids allowed. Jon took his kids up to Globe to hang out with Travis, leaving us the house all to ourselves!

We had a weekend of baseball and relaxing ahead of us! And then for some reason God decided that out of months and months of dryness, this was the weekend that it should pour!

And it poured.

And poured.

But we still drove to the field, because we had faith.

Katie was born in Chicago and lived there for 5 minutes so she is an avid Cubs fan, so we had to go to a Cub's game!

The rain stopped, the sun was out and it was beautiful! It looked like the game would be on. We waited for awhile and felt good about it, so we bought tickets from a scalper. Katie is amazing in these situations and talked this dude down at least 15 bucks a ticket. We got tight with him. He called Katie "sugar mama" and Tice "big red."

We got into the stadium and it was glorious

But then they took off the tarp and decided that it was too muddy and canceled the game.

We were devastated.

But that didn't stop us from hanging out at our seats and making friends with all our neighbors. No one wanted to leave.

We even grabbed a dog

We were going to get our money's worth dang it, since we bought from a scalper we obviously couldn't get it back.

But then we got hit on by these decently good looking guys
And I decided that being 7 months pregnant and still getting hit on is worth all the money in the world!

What a fun weekend! Katie is still the same old Katie!

Next year we will for sure catch a game! And Katie, I won't lose my ID when you want to go country dancing at midnight. Sorry about that!
Despite the set backs, I think we still managed to have fun
The rain can't stop this girl
