Leo is one!

Exactly one year from today, I was mad at Leo because he was a week overdue. Today, I am mad at him for turning one!

I've been dreading this day. I've really had a hard time letting go of his babyhood. I hope I'm not that psycho mom that never lets her baby boy grow up. His wife might hate me? He has just been a really good and easy going baby, and I'm pretty sure he is my last, and he is the first and only boy, so I think all those things have added to my crazy possessiveness. We had a bunch of friends over to celebrate,\. He did a pretty decent job on eating his cake! It was a good day!

Also, doctor Bryan (who delivered you) came to you party! We are all pretty good friends since its such a small town! He wanted to do a picture reenacting the birth... it was kind of weird!

These pictures are actually from your real birthday, since we celebrated the weekend before. We made you pancakes and sausage and sang you happy birthday!

Here is what has been going on these last 3 months:

Month 10
He is eating mostly real food now! He pretty much eat what we eat. He loves for us to plop it on his tray so he can grab a fist full and stuff it in his mouth. He has figured out how to swallow and is loving food. He smacks his lips together every time he eats and I love it. He loves sausage, eggs and strawberries the most. He doesn't really like pancakes!

He is starting to copy words we say. We are pretty sure he says "mama, dada, baba, and wawa" and  knows what he is saying.

He still breastfeeds about 4-5 times a day. I can't kick him off!

Month 11
He loves to play catch and love to roll balls to me.
He doesn't really know what to do with the cars he got for Christmas.
He loves getting in the kitchen drawers and getting every thing out. The kitchen is mostly a disaster area now.
He is down to one nap mostly now, he goes to sleep about 11 and sleep for about 2-3 hours. And then he is pretty wiped out by 6:30 pm.
He loves getting something and tapping it on the hard floor, he loves the sound it makes.
He is waving and giving "bones" and high fives. He also blow kisses.
He knows where his nose is.
He knows what the lion says, Leo says, "roar."
He is really understanding things when we say words. I will say "ball" and he will look at the ball. Or "Avery" or "Bath."
He can also say ball "Ba."

Month 12
He is starting to take steps! He has taken about 6 total that I have seen. He will randomly just stand up and take a couple steps, and then decide he likes crawling better!
He is starting to not want to go to other people as much, he really likes his mama!
He has been getting a little more picky about his food. Don't get me wrong, he still eats all the time, but now he will throw the stuff he doesn't like off his tray.
He loves being outside. Anytime I say "outside" he gets really excited and starts squealing. He will just get out there and crawl around. He loves our chickens and kittens.
He will only stay in the baby carrier for a little while now, he is wanting to be more independent! He has about 9 teeth now, and I'm pretty sure his molars are coming in, they are pretty puffy!
Nope, still waking up at night. I'm a wuss and I don't really want to make him cry it out. Sometimes I get sick of it and turn the noise maker on and make him cry, but I'm not that consistent!
Church is starting to get rough, he won't sit on the bench for very long!
He started going to nursery, even though he isn't 18 months. They said they would take him because he is a good boy!

Leo is such a light in our family! We can't imagine it without him. He is a great caboose!
