Summer in Globe

What do we do in this small town with nothing to do in the hot Summer?

Well......
We have sister sleepovers

We swim at the Miami pool.
Isla jumped off the diving board!

We take dips in our own pool... sometimes naked dips

We hang out at dusk watching the bats, who, by the way, fly right over us

We eat a lot of ice cream and slushies and popsicles

We go to the lake

We hang out with friends at home

We go on outings

And we get creative

I guess being stuck in a small little town in the middle of a very hot Summer isn't the worst thing. We had fun!

1st day of 2nd and 4th!

Time flies by! Summer is over (well not really because its still in the 100's) and its time for school! We started in July this year! I think its because its so hot, there is nothing else to do, so they might as well go to school!

Avery is starting 4th grade! Dang she is getting old! She will be in Mrs. Williams 4/5th grade class. Its a special combined class that involves a lot of STEM learning. She is excited because her best friend, Emory, who is in 5th grade, is in her class.

Brooklyn is starting 2nd grade. She has Ms. O'Neal.

Its going to be a good year! Hopefully we can keep our streak going for no principal office visits, we finally did it last year!

I love me some 4th a July

Best Holiday ever!

Why? Because just look!

We went up to Showlow to be with the Stoddards. The weather was perfect! Go north in the Summer when you are in Arizona ok!

The parade was fantastic!

The lake was gorgeous

That is correct, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you, Brooklyn got on a boat all by herself and paddled. She conquered her fear!

This little boy was a pill! But a cute pill I will say

Since fire season was so intense this year, they cancelled fireworks in Showlow. After we grilled and filled our tummies, we left Showlow to go back to Globe. We made it just in time for the fireworks!

How can any other holiday be better than this one? I freaking love America!
