Trav's 40th

For Trav's 30th birthday party, I threw him a surprise pirate birthday party. It was his "golden" birthday, so I took the "gold" theme and ran with it. Since he is older and wiser now, I decided that maybe we would have a more mature party for his big 40. Maybe some of you are thinking mature means black tie affair at the theater or something. Mature to us means a night of no kids and a fun activity with lots of food. We went to Top Golf with all our friends.

This was the year of 40, we had four friends go dark this year!

So yeah, this is pretty much what we did all night

We golfed

Stuffed our faces

And laughed

Also, we really were super mature, and we stuffed sugar packets in random party guests wallets
What can I say, don't ever take us anywhere.... it was mostly my sister TC

I think this party was a hit. We love celebrating with our amazing friends. Oh, and if you spy a little 3 year old girl in the picture, well, she happened to come down with strep throat for the week. So we drugged her pretty well and brought her with a stroller, movie and lots of Sprite!

Happy birthday old man! We love you!

Leo 7 months

This month has been huge for Leo. He has probably made the most progress this month.

He is crawling everywhere! He pulls himself up to a stand against things.

He has 3 teeth

He is really loving food now. He will eat pretty much anything. He loves sweet potatoes, apple sauce and oatmeal.

He slept through the night for a week, but then the teeth happened and he is back at it at night

He doesn't like to be contained very much, just wants to be down crawling on the ground

He is super wiggly now

He is still always so happy and smiley, if you make eye contact with him, he will give you a huge cheesy grin, and not just to people he knows, strangers in the store.

He really loves Avery

He is scared of Isla

He is now taking baths in the tub without a baby chair, he loves baths! He crawls around and plays with his toys in the bath

He is getting curious and starting to explore the house aka become a tornado!

San Antonio

Travis had to go to a medical convention in San Antonio, so we totally mooched and came along with him. Also, good ole Sid and Tam came too!

We actually didn't tell our kids that their grandparents were coming, and we planned it so that they had a layover in Phoenix where we met up and flew on the same plane to Texas. I will just say, it was a good surprise!

I had never been to this cool city, so we had to explore!

We took a bus tour of the city so we could learn all the history and get a lay of the land

Then we found a Mexican shopping and eating area. Grandpa is just one of the girls!

Then we of course had to check out the river walk

 It was pretty amazing!

We then found out about a creek outside of the city and had to go and explore. We country folks can't stay very long in a big city. We played for hours!

This little boy was a trooper and he often times had to sleep on the fly!
We found rocks in the creek

We also found a really cool park in the middle of the city and made some friends. My dad and I played ping pong with a random guy we met. It was fun!

Then we found a really fun popsicle store around the corner, Leo had his first bite of popsicle and loved it!

One of my favorite nights was when we played till dark at a park, and we walked over to these food trucks. It was after 9pm and we were hanging out with the bar crowd. We be crazy! And yes, we have 4 kids! The fish tacos were great!

We had to do the touristy thing and go to Sea World. We mostly stayed on the water park side because it was super hot! I went on a tube slide with my mom and dad and Avery, and it was so fun. I laughed like a little kid because one of the drops was pretty fast!

After Sea World, we found some amazing Texas BBQ!

I can see why Texans are obsessed with Texas, they have some major pride and patriotism here! We had a great time with Sid and Tam! I couldn't have come here without them (since Travis was at his conference a lot). Thanks for dealing with our crazy mom and dad! We love you!
