Halloween 2017

Halloween is such an event! No longer is it just one spooky night, its multiple nights of partying, stuffing candy in your hole and parading in costumes. I'm not going to lie, I kind of like it. Yes, it can be exhausting. Yes, I get tired of hunting down everyone's costume pieces. Yes I get tired of all the hair and makeup drama. Yes I get tired of all the candy consumption. But, I sort of love it. And my kids do too! Here are all the events leading up to the special night:

1. Virtuccio Farms Pumpkin Patch

We do this every year. Nothing gets me more than corn fields, hay rides, bouncey toys and pumpkins! I don't appreciate the stifling heat in October though, this really makes me mad! Why Arizona? But other than that, its perfect!

Leo was a champ. I wore him on me the whole time, so I guess I was a champ because I was dripping with sweat! We hung out with my sis and Bella too. It was a lot of fun and made us really excited for the Fall!

2. The neighborhood Progressive dinner
I was a little nervous for this event, because I was in charge of it. We did this tradition in Kansas City. We would dress up, start at someone's house for Halloween appetizers, go to someone else's house for  Halloween dinner and end at another person's house for dessert and piƱata. So I decided to bring it here to Globe and it went well and was a lot of fun! Phew!

This was the first time my kids got in their costumes with full makeup. They were pumped... everyone except the Lion, he wasn't a fan!

3. Ward trunk or treat

Avery was so quick to jump out of the car and start going around with her friends, that I didn't even get a picture of her. We made the rounds and gathered more candy! It was a good practice before the big night.

Also, we decided to do a costume change for Leo. This seemed to suit him better, even though the picture doesn't portray it.

4. Pumpkin carving

The older girls are getting good at carving! I don't really have to help any more, except princess Brooklyn doesn't really like gutting her pumpkin!

Next year Leo will be entered in the contest, good luck Leo.

5. The actual night of Halloween
We went down to Gilbert to trick or treat with the Jolley's. This is how I drove down. I'm awesome.

Leo was a little more excited this night. He looks good in that uniform. No pressure son (future major leaguer)

She was the best witch

She gets it from her aunt!

Avery was a great pirate! She thought of this costume back in July and the dream came alive!

You can't ask for a better Alice!

I'm so happy these teens aren't "too cool" to dress up!

This was after the candy collecting! They were pooped and I think Rico is trying to steal their stash!
