Zoo

As a mother, one of my most favorite activities is going to the zoo with my kids. One day, we took off and went to the Phoenix zoo. It was weird not having Avery there, but she is a serious student now. We just took the younger two, along with Ari and her mom and brother.

This was worth the containing of toddler, long drive, heat, sweat and making sure my kids didn't jump into the lions den!

100 days

It's the 100th day of preschool and Brooklyn got to dress up like a 100 year old lady. This beauty queen was a little unsure as she entered school.

Aye Aye Aye, teenager days, here we come! #vain

Loosin' it

Just because she turned 5 doesn't mean she can start doing 5 year old things.

Since Brooklyn was 3, we noticed that tooth was darker than the other teeth. We had it checked out, and the dentist said that she must have bumped it, but that it was fine. The tooth all of a sudden became loose, and fell out. Brooklyn named it toothy when it started getting dark. We were sad to loose Toothy, but she was happy to get money from the tooth fairy. I think she threw in a couple more coins because the tooth was so special.

Day of Love

Our girls were lucky enough to experience another wonderful Charles diner. It is fully equipped with homemade menus, gourmet cooking and state of the art service. People line up for this opportunity because its only opened one day a year, valentines day.

This is our tradition, and we kind of love it! Happy Valentine's day!

Sedona Sucks!

When I was a 23 year old young buck, I thought it would be a cool to say that I ran a marathon in between every baby that I had, so I made that a goal. So far, I did the goal, and it was actually fun. Enter me getting old. Like 32 years old. Its not the same as when you are in your early twenties. But it was time to start training and fulfilling my goal. I signed up for the Sedona marathon with some of my friends. Jill ran the 10K, Lisa ran the half and Kenzie ran the 5K. I'd like to say that it was a blast and that it was totally worth all the pain and time. But to be honest, this race kind of sucked! First of all, the elevation was high, and that really makes a difference. Secondly, the terrain was hilly! Thirdly, the route was a down and back, which I don't enjoy, I'd rather have a loop, and I was thinking we would run on the road around the town. We ran up a mountain, and ended up running on dirt roads, which is hard! I struggled more than I have in a race. I finally found a second wind around mile 20 and thought to myself, "hey I got this, only 6 more miles." But then mile 23 hit. And it was pretty much uphill the whole run back. I was pretty pissed. When I crossed that line, I wasn't smiling. My time was 9 minutes off my best time ever. Whatever. I will say, the rest of the weekend was fun with my friends and its always fun to say that you accomplished a marathon, so I guess I got that too. Just don't ask my time please! If and that is a huge if I ever do another marathon, I will make sure its in an ideal location.... maybe Honolulu?
This was before, so yeah, we are all happy

Lisa's strategy is to wear a garbage sack around herself to keep warm, and get rid of it on the trail. I had to make fun of her for that one.

Blah, this was pretty much the whole run, I get PTSD just looking at this picture!

The finish line, I wanted to die!

Yay for finishing! Good job friends!
