Preschool take 2

So we tried doing preschool for Isla through a cute school. She hated it. She never wanted to go. I wanted to give it a couple months before I yanked her, but to be honest, I hated sending her everyday because I knew it would be a battle and I had mommy guilt. So I did it, I yanked her. She is a preschool dropout. But then we got involved in a home preschool with some of my mom friends. I had it once a month at my house and she would go once a week to the other kids' houses. Isla loved this. And to be honest, I kind of loved it too! It was a win-win situation. We did a lot of fun things! And it sure got messy.

Our grass and Sid

My dad came to help with some projects that Travis hasn't been able to do since he busted his leg. We got crap done and its nice to see a little green among the brown! It was nice, everyone needs a Sid in their life!

1st grade field trip

I was able to meet up with Brooklyn's class on their local downtown Globe field trip. I think her cute little friends liked me. They shared their lunch snacks with me an everything. I'm still cool.

The Big Leagues

Avery started playing softball. This was her first year with real pitchers. She had a great season. There were only 2 teams in the leagues, so they played the pink team every Tuesday and Thursday. I have to take my hat off to my mom for suffering through the "learning" years of softball. The game takes awhile to develop finesse and flow, and I will tell you, its sort of like watching a circus! But it was also fun to be outside cheering our girl on. She was a cute little lefty batter. Her first at bat, she hit a screaming line drive to the pitcher, who caught it (surprise, its in my glove). It was fun and Avery is a natural!

Mom's and muffins

Brooklyn invited me for muffins with moms in her classroom. It was fun! I was served muffins, then I was interviewed, and then entertained by a story. I sure love this gal! And it felt really nice to be waited on for once!

Leo Big boy bed

This is a big day. Leo is moving out of his crib and into a big boy bed. He doesn't stay in his crib anymore, and I've put off the inevitable for too long. We don't need a crib anymore... and that makes me sad. Stop growing up Leo!!! And please stay in your bed and take naps!

Sick Day

Brooklyn tested positive for strep, but I had something planned already for that day that I couldn't miss. So off to work Brooklyn went with dad. She made a little bed under his desk, and we drugged her and gave her snacks and an Ipad. I'm pretty sure she was in heaven that day. I'm glad it worked out!

T-Swift

Fun night at the Taylor Swift concert!
Sometimes I pretend I'm still 25!
Yep, it was a Tuesday night, and yep it was in Glendale (2+ hours away). Oh well, lots of caffeine the next day! Also, I can't get over how cute baby Claire was. She was rocking the sound proof headphones!
And Taylor Swift, you still got it! You are one psycho lady!

Olson's wedding in Utah

Avery and I got to sneak away for 48 hours to Utah for my cousins wedding. It was so fun to escape our norm and be with family!
Avery is getting to the age where I can just relax (for the most part). I don't have to watch her too closely and I can nap if I'm tired! Although, she does like to eavesdrop on every adult conversation, so I do have to watch her there!
Before the wedding, we went up to Heber to ride horses. This is pretty much the answer for anything in life. Just.Ride.Horses!
Avery did awesome on her first time. She rode by herself and was a champ!
The horses were fantastic.
She kept asking if we could move there. Maybe Avery. Maybe.

So I mostly got pics of the horses even though the real reason was the wedding. I got this one shot of Kelsey, the bride. She is a babe and Olsen got really lucky!

We had a great two days!
