4 lovely years

Its been four lovely years since I became Mrs. Charles. So far we have lived in 3 different states, had one beautiful baby, have almost made it through medical school and have both learned a lot! Its been an adjustment living with a boy. Boys don't think like girls do. Girls are sensitive and want you to read their minds. Boys are simple and live day to day. Well, at least my boy does. I need to be more like that and just live in the present and not worry about the future so dang much. If you can't tell, I've kind of been on Trav's case these past couple of weeks. I love you Trav and I need to be more like you. You are always happy and living in the moment. You love people. You are loyal to your friends. You love having a good time. You don't have wrinkles like I think I do. Although, I have spotted a couple of silvers, but Trav, you already know how I feel about those. I hope I will age as beautifully as you are going to. I won't hold my breath. I love you, I love how you are with me, with Avery and I promise I won't try to change you all of the time.

Travis asked me why I fell in love with him.

I told him because our love was so easy and simple. I also said that I could feel that he loved me more than anything. I loved the way he looked at me. A pure and simple love.

I then asked him the same question.

He thought for a second and then said, "because you were really hot." I love my husbands depth... and sometimes he can even be funny.

Here are some pictures of the special day

Party animals cont. 9

And most recently, was our ward karaoke party. I'll be honest, I wasn't too excited, and was mainly going for the food, but it was a blast!
The girls sang some Spice Girls, and we pretty much sounded just like them :)
Trav said I was hogging the mic the whole song, sorry girls, I guess I was feeling it

The boys sang a Shaggy song, I don't know Trav, it kind of looks like you are hogging it too?

And then we rocked out in a KILLER dance party!
These two were at it again! It was really fun. That was a long post, but I just wanted to remember what we did when we were poor, because one day we're going to be really rich and cocky, and maybe I will read this blog and it will humble me :)
We have had a lot of good memories and have met so many great people!

After that party, it was my birthday, and Lindsay threw me a little lunch party, it was amazing!

She knows that I love Miley, and threw her in on the banner. Awesome Linds.

This girl made the most beautiful and delicious cake

Just look at it

Thanks Lechelle
I gobbled it up

Next was probably one of the funniest nights. The Ugly Sweater Party.
I really don't need to write anything, words can't describe

The Church's- Trent won for most disturbing

The Shawcrofts

The Washburn's (they didn't understand the theme apparently)

The Horne's

The Johnson's

The Charles's

Angela was flying solo that night, and she won for "most insecure" because her sweater really wasn't that ugly

The Pope's

The Romney's (nice try)

The Kau's

And of course, the winner of the ugliest sweater, Chris. He was proud

We are a little worried about these two

The girls

The Boys

Next, we are big LOST nerds, so we of course had to have a Lost party on the season opener.

If we are Lost nerds, where are these two classified?
Orson and Alisha, you will now and forever be invited to any party we have. We love your attitudes!

We brought Dharma "beer". You'd probably have to be a Lost dork to understand. Just go with it.

We got drunk from the "beer"

I tell ya, we DO NOT skimp on the food at these parties. Another amazing cake by Brandi.
She even put the right numbers for the hatch (another Lost thing you'd have to know)

I realize that Avery is wearing a KU jersey, but if you looked at it really fast, and maybe if you were illiterate, it just might have passed for a Colt's jersey.

Another party we went to was the Johnson's super bowl party. Ok, it wasn't really a party, in fact I'm pretty sure we just invited ourselves over. But they have the largest TV in the townhomes, so naturally they should be hosting a superbowl party. Also we had homemade cheese dip and chips.

Another fun thing that we did was have a kid tea party. We decided it would be fun to have a tea party with all the little girls in the neighborhood.
Avery chugged it

Then we thought that the tea party looked fun for the girls, so the next week we decided to ditch the kids and have our own adult tea party

We were really excited to get the invite to go to Gabbi's princess party, then we figured out it was mostly directed towards Avery, but we still snuck some cake.
Princess Avery

There was wand making, crown making and balloons, but Avery was captivated by the puzzle in the corner feature of the party. I will have to remember that one for her next birthday.

Here is a group shot

Good thing we got it on the first take because this was the very next second. She was off to her corner

And this was the lovely birthday girl
Thanks for your fun party Gabbi, I hope Avery didn't make you cry (see "my kid is biter" post).
