Summer in Globe

We do the best we can to stay entertained in the tiny town of Globe. There isn't too much to do. Which is a good and bad thing. Good, because my kids will find a rock and play for it for an hour. Bad, because I get bored! Here are some things we did:

We pooled it in Miami (not the cool city, the tiny city right next to Globe), multiple times with multiple friends:

We gawked at the amazing wild life:
Not only this gem, but multiple days of lizard catching.

We pooled it in our own backyard:

We took swimming lessons:

This one wasn't so much fun, but mostly torturous. The water was freezing, and they man handled Isla. For reals. The swimming instructor was Jack Bauer's sister. She would throw Isla in, and force her to float on her back and Isla had to grab the side of the wall. I love/hated it. But she did learn how to float on her back on her own! Isla would say, "I no want swimming lessons." But at the end, she said it was fun and I totally took her to the gas station afterwords and bought her donuts! Brooklyn became a little fish. She is a great swimmer and doesn't care anymore about getting her face wet. Avery is still a fish and is learning the strokes now.

We got spirichal:
Avery and Brooklyn were able to attend the Lutheran church's vacation bible school. They did a Joseph in Egypt thing and my girls loved it! Praise the Lord!

Like I said, we sort of had to scrape to find things to do, but we had some good times!

Coach pitch

I love watching Avery try new things. She did so well in coach pitch baseball this year. And I think she loved it too, which makes me happy, because this is my sport.. .... .... but no pressure :)

Oh and she was Avery's biggest fan running around like a crazy person  cheering her on.

Mallie

Matt and Allie (Mallie) have been our friends since college. They are huge travelers, and they have traveled to visit us many time in Kansas City. They finally came to Arizona to see us! They also chose one of the hottest days of the year. They were here to see a play, so they only had time to meet for an evening. So we chose to go to a splash park in Gilbert so we could chat while the kids played.
The two youngest babies are albino twins!

Frandz!

Matt and Trav are buds! They hadn't seen each other in over 2 years!

We sure loved catching up, we didn't even notice the nasty heat! Thanks Mallie!

Last day of 1st grade

So Avery did it, she passed first grade! It was an interesting year. She started off a little rocky. But she ended fantastic! She is a smart kid and she knows how to work hard.

Mrs. Sukosky

When she got home from school on her last day, I made her read and do chores... just kidding, we had a party!

Yay for Summer!!!
