Leo first month

Week 2
Leo was very wheezy, especially when he would sleep. He has a condition called laryngomalacia. Its not too big of a deal. It just means that his laryngeal (basically his throat cartilage) collapses and isn't fully developed which leads to wheezing. He will eventually grow out of it. Jeez Leo, you stayed an extra week in the womb, and you still weren't fully developed. This week was tough! It finally hit me that I had four kids! I feel like one of them is always crying and one of them always needs something. I was trying to be the fun mom and get out of the house, but I wasn't comfortable. I was stressed, and I think Leo could feel it. He was more fussy, and I swear, he was constantly hungry! He just wanted to eat, like every hour! That made it hard to do anything.

Week 3:
Leo's face is really filling out. He seriously loves to eat! He eats about every 2 hours. He always has poop in his diaper, yellow mustard poop! Speaking of poop, is a very dramatic pooper, he grunts and moans and toots while it happens. (I can't wait for his girlfriend to read this). He wakes up usually at 1 and 4 to eat. He spends most of the nights in our bed...whoops!

Week 4:
Leo is starting to be more chill and less fussy. I think we are starting to figure life out. He is mostly fussy in the mornings and then gets better through the day. He is starting to get the baby acne, but its cool, he is still super cute! We have noticed that he is starting to smile. That is our favorite! Also, they say boy clothes are boring and not as fun as girl clothes, I beg to differ! Boy clothes are rad and so much fun! I feel like I get to dress him like a little boy doll in dinosaur, construction and monster stuff. I love it!

Can't believe its been a month already!

Sorry about your wee-wee

The saddest day in Leo's life so far is the day he got circumcised. I'm sorry! Its a weird thing we do, huh! Tice came with me for moral support. They took him in the other room and did it. He screamed, but only for a minute. His little penis was sore, but we took care of it! Also, he peed on me twice that day as I was changing his diaper (and he has never done that so far). I deserved it! He was 9 lbs at his two week check up! He gained over 2 pounds in a week! Also, his cord fell off. Stop growing so fast!
And sorry, I didn't take any pictures that day, I didn't think he would want to remember.

First week

Leo survived his first week! Everyone was pretty enamored by him. His bilirubin count was on the high side still, so we had to take him back to the hospital and get him tested. It was so sad, because they had to prick his foot, but they let him have sugar water. I didn't know this, but when a newborn gets sugar for the first time or two, it acts like a sedative. He was pretty high on sugar and hardly even noticed that his foot was bleeding and they were squeezing his blood out.  The levels were still high, but dropping. He sort of looked yellowish, but the doctors weren't too worried.

We didn't do too much his first week. We mostly stayed home and rested. Grandma Tam and Grandpa Sid were still here taking care of me and the girls. We would binged watch "Stranger things" after the girls went to bed every night. Hmmm, maybe that's not the best way to introduce a new baby to the world?

Avery, Brooklyn and Isla basically fought over holding him all week. I was a little nervous with Isla, so I held her and she held him, but Avery and Brooklyn were pretty gentle with him. They even tried to feed him. We were supposed to try and feed him formula for his jaundice, but he was completely offended by that and wouldn't take any. He loves the boobie juice! He really eats like a champ, and is hungry often. He also poops constantly. I think I have changed one diaper without poop since he has been born! He is mostly sleeping during the day and night.  He is in our bedroom and night, he doesn't really cry when he is hungry,  he sort of squeaks and grunts and snorts a lot!

He has such a sweet and calming spirit. We need more of that in a house full of energetic and dramatic girls! He is going to be so loved! I can't stop smelling him!
