Spring break 2017

Spring Break was a real awakening for me! I really wanted to be fun and not let just having a baby slow me down with my other kids, but reality hit, and it hit hard! I really hadn't cracked Leo yet. He was only a couple of weeks old, he didn't really have a pattern. It seemed like he was hungry all the time, so I had to constantly feed him. Its really hard breast feeding a baby in public let alone, but breast feeding while my 2 year old runs wild is no fun! My first attempt at being fun went so-so, it would have been a flop if I didn't have my friends' help! We had heard that the flowers in bloom in the San Carlos Indian reservation was something we should check out, so we went up there. When we got there, I unloaded all the kids, and then went to put Leo in my baby wrap, because, ya know, all the mom's wear their baby's nowadays, it makes one a good mom :) I had successfully worn Leo a couple days before that, and he seemed to like it, so in my mind, it was going to be successful this time. I would wear him as he snuggled up to my chest while parading around the beautiful hills singing the Sound of Music. Well, it didn't start that way. Isla was throwing a 2-year-old tantrum while I was trying to figure out the stupid wrap. I couldn't remember what strap went where and I didn't have service to look it up on you-tube. Then of course, Leo was acting hungry, because it had only been 42 minutes since his last feeding, in the meantime, my two older kids were galavanting through the Indian reservation! I was a little stressed and was about ready to just pack it up and go home. My lovely friend, Andrea, came over and helped me luckily. She actually took the wrap and magically put it on herself and Leo fell asleep on her. I'm sure he could sense my stress and was happy to snuggle up against a calm/sane person. I dealt with Isla, and everything was OK after that. I hiked around with the kids for awhile and we all had a picnic. We stayed for about an hour. It was beautiful! Phew! On the way home, Leo, of course woke up and started wailing! Oh yeah, did I mention that he likes to eat? He was hungry again, so I pulled over at the Apache Gold casino, whipped my boob out and fed him. Isla fell asleep in her carseat while I was doing this, then eventually Leo did too, and we drove home. Needless to say,  I was pretty spent with our adventure and I was more inclined to stay closer to home for the rest of Spring Break!

Andrea with Leo!

Still trying to be the fun mom, I came up with (or looked on Pinterest) some fun things to do at home. We did a few.

And we did venture out on St.Patricks Day for some fun at the library

I picked up these little leprauchans and took them home

And I did try one last big adventure at the end of the week, going down to Gilbert to hang out with my sister! It actually went pretty well. I'm pretty sure I had to stop on the way down to feed Leo at some point, but other than that, we made it. The kids were playing so well, Tice and I decided to make a Spring wreath. We went to the craft store and bought all the stuff, we even bought the kids castles to paint because they are old enough to handle that now, right? Wrong. I went outside to check on them, and guess who decided it would be cool to paint their aunt's house pink? No, not the two year old. Brooklyn, the 6 year old. It wasn't a happy ending. I made the kids pack up and leave! I was pretty mad. Luckily, with internet searches on "how to get acrylic paint off of stucco" and scrubbing our guts out, it started to fade.

This was before

And I didn't get an after because I was driving back furiously to Globe!

All in all, we survived a hard thing. And we even had a little bit of fun. This 4 kid thing isn't for the weak!

Also, this picture just needs to be on here, no rhyme or reason
