Mia Hamm in the making

Its sad to see your babies grow up so fast, but one fun part about it is they are old enough to try new things out.

Travis has been waiting for the day Avery would be old enough for soccer. We signed her up and the rest is history.

First practice

First game

The beautiful Arizonian fields

Professional soccer pics. I was not able to be there that day, and I was a little worried of how Travis was going to fix Avery's hair.
He took her over to the Bruce's and Tammy fixed it up 'real nice.' Avery didn't want a braid, pony tail, or pig tails. Tammy didn't have a lot to work with so when she suggested a pretty bow on the side, diva Avery was satisfied.

Thanks Tammy.

The team, go Lightening
I kind of feel they got jipped on their uniform color. There was purple, bright orange, blue; but we were the poopy gray color. Oh well. Next year?

Avery was the kid who was really excited about the game for the first 5 minutes, then she would be more interested in chasing bees and picking flowers. We might need to work on her focus a little :) She had zero goals, but one time she was so close to the goal, and the ball landed right by her foot. All she had to do was kick it in, but she was too busy admiring the sunset to pay attention to that minuscule stuff! Avery was honestly really good at defense, when she was focused. Most kids are kind of afraid when a herd of kids come stomping their way. Avery was a brick wall and never flinched; even with no shin guards (her choice, diva).

If you ask Avery what part of soccer was her favorite, I bet her answer would be the snacks after the game. She was always focused on that!

We had so much fun watching her and can't wait for more things to come!
