When I went to Utah, I left Travis all by himself for 10 days.
When we got back, he told me he had a surprise for me
He bought tickets to go and see the Indigo girls.
If you don't know the Indigo Girls, then you are really missing out on a fantastic band, and you probably didn't play college softball. (If you know anything about the Indigo Girls, you would get that joke)
The venue was a small bar/lounge called the Voodoo lounge in a casino in North Kansas city. I loved it because it was so small!
Oh man, can I just say that these women rocked it. I couldn't stop watching them. I stood for almost 4 hours that night and didn't even want to go home. I was mesmerized! They played with a band called shadowboxers who were also amazing!
Amy was my favorite to watch. You could just tell she loved what she was doing. After every song a crew member would come on the stage and switch out their instruments. They played tons of different ones. I bet their fingers are callused for life!
Look how close we were to them!
We also ran into 2 of Trav's resident friends Stephanie and Michelle.
I'm going to admit something that I am ashamed of. Lately, I've been into listening to Top 40 stuff. I can't help tapping my feet when a Katie Perry song comes on, so sue me. I also know all of the words to "So call me maybe." Going to this concert made me realize that I need to get back to my roots though. Acoustic rock/folk music is where my heart is. I have been a little bit lost.
Travis, thanks for being so thoughtful and taking me. I know you also like the Indigo girls, but actually going to their concert is a small sacrifice because most of the women were checking me out!
The only bummer part of the night was that they didn't play, "Ghost." It is their best song in my opinion! Oh well, it was such a fun and much needed night. Thanks Travis!

Nice job brother in law! You get props from me. Milli got me into Indigo and they ROCK! Just make sure she wears a bow next time!
I listened to Ghost today. . . . I started listening to Indigo mid 2000. I went through a phase where i looped and would listen 24/7, so today, I went back in time---music can really trigger memories... Memorable concerts are far and few between.
Milli... I think Travis wins the husband of the year award. Can I just say that the Idigo Girls is my all time favorite band? My best friend and I were huge followers back at the Cougar. Kevin is" too man" to listen to them in public, but deep down I know he loves them! Way to go Travi!
Who hasn't had an Indigo Girls phase? Mine started in high school and I'm not sure it ever ended. My bff and I learned a few of their songs on the guitar and sang some sweet, sweet harmonies. True, Ghost may be their absolute best song ever, but I still love Closer to Fine and Least Complicated. Are they coming to Utah anytime soon??
Umm.. me. However, I'm sure Travis sang along with every song.
