I hope this one's a little different...

This was what happened on our last cruise
It was our honeymoon. If you are thinking of this witty comment, "it must have been a pretty hot honeymoon" well stop! Its been done before.
We had 4 great days of cruise, but some idiot with a cigarette wasn't being responsible, and as you can see, burnt half the ship.
They ended the cruise that day, and flew us home from Jamaica. Don't worry, we got our money back!
Anyways, the point of this post is to say that we are trying this cruise thing out again. Wish us luck, and if the ship is going to burn down, at least let us do our freaking awesome excursion in Dominica... PLEASE!!!

Wong Oh Wong!

April was such a fun and busy month. I couldn't decide what to post about, so I just posted about everything. Sorry if you have a full schedule, but your just gonna have to take the day off and catch up on the Charles family. I think I posted about 7 or 8, so be sure to scan.

Triathlete

Travis and I decided to switch roles. He did the Ft. Leavenworth triathlon and I was the supporter! Why? Well, I guess it was so that he could have the attention and glory for once. It was tough for me. It would be like if he were to sit on the sideline of a Halo tournament and support me! It was actually pretty fun to be on the sidelines. And I actually think I got more of a work out chasing Avery, than some of the pro racers.

A bunch of people in our neighborhood did this race, so it was fun to be their support as well. I was the only one there for all of them, so I was the babysitter, photographer, keeper of keys, clothing, cameras and I was the cheerleader.

Travis did so good! It was neat to see him perform, this guy isn't typically a worker-outer, so I loved seeing this side of him. Keep it up babe!

Before the race

After the race

Here are the little cheerleaders

Amy never misses a race, for not training at all, she did amazing!
I wonder if this was Michelle's face during labor. She is always smiling!

Kim just finishing the race

Travis, your stock just went up in my book! And you are totally going to bring head bands back.

We heart cows

Last time we went on the Shatto Milk Farm tour, I was about 8 1/2 months pregnant with Avery. Since cows are her favorite, we thought it was time to take her. She was in Heaven because she was able to pet baby cows. We were in Heaven because we got to sample the milk. We tried chocolate, root beer, orange, strawberry and banana milk. Is it weird that my kid hates chocolate milk? She loved the other kinds though, and we just had to buy some banana and root beer milk. Delish!

Leroy, you've done it again. We are fans!

PS Leroy is the owner.

Royals game

Travis had a whole week off (thanks Jim) so we took advantage and hit up a midday baseball game. Avery lasted a whole 10 seconds before she wanted to start exploring Kaufman stadium. Good thing we went on student day and our tickets were cheap, because we hardly even sat in them. Another good thing was that Kaufman stadium has cool things to entertain kids like all the fountains, a fountain park and also a play ground. Some not so good things about it was sitting by a bunch of college tards. They were idiot kids, with horrible mouths! Another not so good thing was that the Royals lost. They really need to get it together!

You can see the tards in the back of the picture (and thanks Babe, for cutting half my head off!)

The fountains

The monkey

Even though they lost, we had good family time!

A couple of first's

It was Jack and Jen's birthday, so what better way to party then at Chuck E. Cheese's?

Time flies when you are having fun, and after about three hours, Trav looked at his watch and remembered that it was way past Avery's bedtime. Chuck, I'm sure we will be visiting often!

Also, Avery officially qualifies to go to nursery (in our church you have to be 18 months). I can actually go to Sunday school and listen, although I think my attention span has been damaged because after about ten minutes my mind wanders.

Here she is on her first day
Yes, she is wearing a formal dress.

She did great! Avery, stop growing so dang fast!

Tea Party

Since the last one was so much fun, we decided that we were going to go all out.

Kim supplied the house, tea and tea cups and everyone else supplied the amazing Great Britain food

and the local thrift store supplied these stellar outfits
It was a lovely night!

Take two... or three...

I was looking through our pictures, and we don't have very many of us any more (we like our baby), so I told Trav to pose for the camera, and this is what we ended up with.

This was the best one we got

Then the pooper decided to jump in

Maybe we should just stick with just taking pictures of her!

The heartland

Since we live in the bread basket of the country, we decided that we better take advantage of this fertile soil, so we planted a vegetable garden.

This side is the tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and squash

This side is our corn field. Travis feels so awesome for doing it, he's been talking about growing corn since we drove through the corn fields in Nebraska this last summer. Pray that it grows!

And this is how we were able to work... we had to contain the monster!
