Hallows Eve

There were lots of Halloween events for the Charles family as usual (and I even tried to cut back this year.)

Here they are:

1. Carolyn's pumpkin patch

There was so much to do there. And unfortunately the girls decided to do everything at opposite times. I was spread way too thin!

*Note to self, next time take your husband.

2. The Halloween progressive dinner

I wasn't in charge this year thankfully! Anie and Shelley did an awesome job.

Ariel was pretty excited about it

The food was in tip top shape as usual

The pinata was CHAOTIC but what pinata isn't?

The octopus discovered that sugar NEEDED to be apart of her diet or she would die

And Ariel couldn't get enough of Grandpa's old cough medicine... homemade root beer, JEEZ!

It was a great event for the kids
... and others too.

3. The YMCA trunk or treat

There was face painting

Candy eating

 Booty shaking

Mermaid climbing

And of course, a huge fire truck!

The fireman who was in charge of the truck could just tell that a certain someone wanted to see the inside of the truck.

What a lucky little boy!

4. Story time

The octopus was on a short hiatus for this particular event, so we went with the princess

The princess was really hyper, and the only thing that kept her still was watching bubbles.

5. The actual Halloween night!

We started off the night with soup, rolls and muffins with the Dyer's and the Bangert's.

Then we had a Halloween dance party

Then the trick or treating began

Doesn't she know that no matter how bad it is, that tears aren't worth smeared make up? She will learn.

The parents had lame costumes this year... no excuse!

The firemen rock! Brooklyn didn't agree though... till they gave her candy.

And candy they got!

I decided that for that night only, I would let them go to town on their candy.

At one point, Brooklyn was double fisting two suckers and Avery was trying to bite a ring pop with all of her might so she could move on to the next candy.

This is the face of a  happy, candy-stupored child

Alice and the mad hatter joined the binge for a minute

Halloween is so much fun, but the days after are not.

The octopus really does think she needs the sugar to survive and has had multiple panic attacks when rejected.

Happy Halloween!

WOW!!! I know I could not keep up with that activity level of Ariel and the Octopus on Haloween. So many places to go and things to do.
Soon, Halloween will be seen as the #1 Event of the Year! Good mama and dadda...

Awesome! The girls look ADORABLE! I can't wait to squeeze them again! So, my kids got about 5 pounds of candy each (I'm not kidding) and they could care less about it! It's just sitting in the pantry... of course it still is diminishing after the kids go down, when Jon and I raid it!!! It's a good thing you are mommy Charles because I would not... I could not, tell that eight legged beauty no... and she would die of candy overdose! Love ya sis!
