Ahhh! I let myself get behind again. What is wrong with me, I still have to post about Halloween!
So, the marathon was just the beginning of a fun filled week with Sid and Tam. We decided to get out of the KC and go on a road trip! We left on Tuesday morning to go to Nauvoo, IL. Tamara, if you are reading this, I saw a sign that said "To Kirksville" and was so excited!
If you are ever going to take a road trip, that was the week to do it. The leaves were AMAZING!!!
We knew we were going to run into the Mississippi really soon, and for some reason I was so excited to see it. It is such a historic and legendary river. I choked and didn't see it first though, Trav spotted it and won the dollar!
Nauvoo was great! Loved all the old missionaries! It was great relearning about the history of our church! Good feelings.

Mom, you are looking a shade of green! |
After Carthage, we decided to drive to St. Louis. Along the way, we stopped in Hannibal, MO birthplace of Samuel Clemons aka Mark Twain. It was just like I imagined where Huck Finn would live. The Mississippi was right there among little steamboats. It was neat!
The drive was immaculate!
When we finally made it to St. Louis, the weather decided to be crappy and it rained the whole time!
The first day we were there, we went to The City Museum. Weirdest place I have ever been. It was like the McDonald's play place on Steroids! Its a playground for adults made out of all recyclable materials. At first we were all a little weirded out, but then we got into it and were crawling through tiny tunnels and in caves. The only word that can describe it is weird!
We crawled through that tiny medal thing
We, of course, had to see the arch too. But since it was raining, we just decided to do a drive by. But Before the arch, we saw this crazy diesel blowing up on the side of the road... welcome to St. Louis!

Here is the arch |
If you already think this trip is pretty random, the next day, we decided to go and check out where the Mississippi river and the Missouri river meet up... almost as fun as Disney World!

Don't you love how Clark's first name was Meriwether and he was a dude! |
|
This place is called Confluence point, the beginning of Lewis and Clark's big expedition. It was cold! |
|
What is the difference between these two pictures? |

Peek a boo! |
Other things we did in St. Louis were: the temple, card games, ice cream, driving, and making fun of my mom. We love ya Tam the gram! Thanks for the fun trip mom and dad! Sorry Avery got sick for her birthday party... it was probably from that museum we went to, it had to be crawling with fungus and diseases!
