Dance mom
Brooklyn danced her little heart out at her recital tonight. I'm a sports mama, but I really love these things. Maybe I'm living my other life that I never had through my children? Nah, I'd rather throw a softball!

vida
There is not too much to do in this small town, especially with kids. On top of that, my kids don't have school on Fridays. So sometimes we scramble with what to do with ourselves! Luckily a cute little coffee shop opened not too long ago. Its called Vida cafe. Also, the owner is a cute mom who made a little corner of the shop kid friendly. My kids beg to go there every day. They love do down their hot chocolate and play with the dominoes! We sort of love this place!

Jim Gaffigan
We went and saw Jim Gaffigan with all of these clowns!
He made me pee my pants a little bit.
Also, I love our friends!
Nutcracker
We went to the Nutcracker ballet with Avery and Brooklyn. We went to see Makayla (our friend) perform. I was a little nervous because I remember when I was around their age, I got super bored watching the dancers perform. But my girls were into it! Brooklyn was so into it that the next day, she found a Nutcracker performance on Netflix and watched the whole thing. Maybe I had no attention span when I was ten? It was a fun night!

Family pics
We haven't done family pictures for a long time. Probably since Leo was 6 months old. I think I'm just scared to do it because Leo is so crazy! But we needed a picture for our Christmas card this year so at the last minute we decided to get them taken. My mom was the photographer, and I'm pretty sure she took them on our iPhone, so not too professional, but they turned out pretty cute.
I guess we will keep them around.

Good ole Emory
We have moved a few times. Our kids were mostly young, so they dealt with it just fine. Avery found her best friend here in Globe. Avery is the type of girl who doesn't need a ton of friends, just a few really good ones who she totally connects with. Emory was her gal. It was pretty heartbreaking when we learned that her family was moving to Colorado! Avery was shocked! She had to say good bye and it was tough! Avery is a tough one and will learn how to get through it. In the meantime, I'm allowing her to use my phone to text Emory, and they are exploding it up! We will miss her!

Mary Poppins
This theater life is sort of addicting! Avery and Brooklyn were the "extras" in this play. They just had small parts and only had to go to one practice per week, but they loved it! Brooklyn was a honey bee and a kite flyer and Avery was a pigeon. The costumes were to die for and I'm pretty sure Brooklyn liked shaking her bee stinger!

Halloween
Let the festivities begin. Its October and that means Fall, Halloween and the beginning of the holidays.
We did our annual progressive dinner
Leo was the best little Oompa Loompa in the land
Brooklyn was a sparkly unicorn
Isla was Princess Sophia
Avery was a cat of course
I am what I am every year, a witch, wizard, or Malificent figure. My kids don't think its cool anymore.
We started the journey at the Kruise home. This is where we had appetizers and did our FHE play. They chose Daniel and the Lion's den, because ya know, it was a Monday night and we needed to be a little spiritual.
Here are the cute appetizers
And some more costumes
Then we went for soups at the Peery's house. I didn't take pictures of the soups because they were just soups.
But this guy showed up and he dressed up like Dr. Death... its a podcast about a Spine Doctor that was really bad at his job! So Travis was super scary!
After the soups, we finished at our backyard with the Halloween desserts
The piñata was the funnest part of the night, I am "that mom" and didn't fill it up with candy, I filled it up with light up toys. It turned out awesome. We turned out all the lights and put on rave music, and the kids went crazy with their glow in the dark toys!
I'd say it was a raging success and I will probably have to organize it again next year dang it!!!
Next event was the pumkin carving/painting
It was this boys first real try at painting a pumpkin and he just thought we were weird!
Avery is a big girl and carved her own and came up with her own idea
Uh.... should I be worried?
Next event was Isla's class party
I came and helped with a bingo game. The kids had so much fun!
And we finally made it to the actual day of Halloween! You know how girls (and sometimes guys) take advantage of Halloween and use it as an excuse to dress scandalous? Yeah, we did that. We had fun going to the Jolley's in Gilbert and trick or treating, eating, and just hanging out!!!
I love these fun traditions that we have to look forward to every year!
