Avery's Special Day

Avery has been looking forward to this day for a long time! We are so happy that she chose to get baptized. All of her cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents from both sides came to see it happen. She is such a sweet and special kid!
My mom and sister made the decorations happen and they looked great, like Pintrest great

I got really Hangry

After

And then, of course we celebrated with milk and cookies afterwards. Avery is such a great example. We read the Book of Mormon with her this year. I know it was hard to understand in parts, but I actually saw the light go on in her. She didn't get baptized because everyone gets baptized when they are eight, she really understood what she was doing and she really wanted to get baptized! She has a very good heart and will eventually choose the right (after sometimes maybe choosing the right, she will always come around.)

Genius

Avery has wanted to be the Student of the Month since Kindergarten. She finally got her wish. To become SOTM, your teacher has to nominate you and your class has to vote for you. Avery has always been a little rough around the edges with her classmates, but this year, she is really clicking. Most of their comments were that Avery is a great reader, a great helper and that she teaches them how to climb the monkey bars and jump the tires. Avery was thrilled. We are proud of her!

Halloween Party Animals!

We definitely felt the spirit of Halloween this year. We pretty much did it all!

1) We came, we carved, we conquered! But I'm still sort of an Arizona rookie, we definitely carved to early this year and they were rotten by October 25th! Patience next year!

Isla was very intense about her pumpkin

Avery actually carved all by herself this year. All fingers and limbs are still in tact.

Brooklyn is in between the "just paint the pumpkin' and "carving" phase. She decided to do both, with help of course.

I forgot to take pictures of the final product. Mom fail!!!

2) Dr. Andrade's Halloween party
This party was an adult work party. We were cool enough to be included in the Steam Punk theme. I guess I'm not that cool though, because I definitely had to google what the crap Steam Punk was! It was fun to dress up though, minus the fact that my belly is growing and I have no idea what size I am and we had to order everything online.
Travis works with some pretty fun nurses, especially after they have had a couple drinks! This is the OB department.

3) Dr. Miller's Halloween party
Dr. Miller lives on a farm, she has this fun party every year, and it is very kid friendly. She has cute games and crafts for the kids.

She also does games for the "adults." Travis won a pumpkin cheesecake from the cheesecake factory. Yeeeaaahhhh!

I got really crafty and made this appetizer. Doesn't it look appetizing? Barf and brains!

Our little cheerleader

Our sweet vampire

Our sexy Cleopatra

Cute little Emmett

Twinners

And we managed to pull something together as well for our costumes

4) The haunted jail tour
This was another adult only activity. Globe lets you tour the old jail and courthouse. They tell you all the stories of the wild wild west and the hauntings. It was really fun!
Spencer's futures

We were in the courthouse when we took this picture, they said that a lot of time, weird shapes would appear in photos. Do you see anything?

5) Ward trunk or treat
And this is where the candy started and it was downhill from then on.
our princess

Our vampire

And where did Avery go? I don't even think I got any pictures of her real costume, she was a SWAT team member.

Our friends

Honorable mention:
We went to a little Halloween festival at the rest home in town. We didn't dress up. We basically showed up for the bounce house, free hot dogs and candy and left.

 6) Actual Halloween
And here we are, the actual day of Halloween. Are you exhausted yet? Halloween ended up being really crazy and stressful. There was an incident that happened up the canyon, there was an actual stand off with the cops, and they had to close the canyon for about 6 hours. That meant that Isla and I were stuck at our house. The girls were in school, and Travis was at work. We had plans to go to Gilbert and hang out with our cousins, but I couldn't get down. Luckily I have a really good friend with a truck. They needed to get out of the canyon as well. Isla and I hopped in the their truck and we went trekking through the mountains and found a way down. Then we zoomed down to the valley just in time to start trick or treating. What a night!!!

And this is the only picture I took, it was post trick or treating, a little before sugar hangover began.

I think that it is safe to say that we lived it up this Halloween. My kids loved it, and we did too! This is my favorite time of year!

Mae Mae is 6!

Brooklyn promised me that she wouldn't get any older than 5... she totally lied. She turned 6 this week. Not cool Brooklyn, not cool!

We did the standard breakfast in bed

Lucky charms and hot chocolate for this girl (now that they are in school, I have to do an easy one)

Then I took donuts to her Kindergarten class and they sang to her

After school, we hopped in the truck and drove to Tucson to try out our new camper. It was a great birthday celebration!

And we didn't even burn the camper down!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROOKLYN!!!

Brooklyn loves to live

She is the flirtiest

The Feistiest

And a very fun girl

She can also be very sweet and loving

She is also very forgiving

We love our Mae Mae, she adds fire to our family!
